The Motorcycle Diaries (2004) Directed by: Walter Salles
For once a movie that felt confident
enough to avoid typical Hollywood trappings (except one scene
that I'll approach later). The performances were believable and
the cinematography was splendid! You might hedge your bets on
the fact that this is a "communist" propaganda film but, I left
with an empty 6 pack of Bud and didn't feel guilty. At the end
a swimming scene is full of "rah rah" that is both displaced and
silly! Patient, Smooth, Ambitious----Acting is natural. Scenery
is inspiring. Conflict is subdued. Go see it prior to a pasta
dinner and if you hate latinos! Rating, I give it a "Menda Eves"
(Pat Connor)
